We are looking for a full time WordPress developer to join our existing team of 6 with ideally 2 years previous industry experience. You will work alongside 3 other developers in our studio as well as our digital designer, technical lead and UX designer.

We need someone who is keen to learn, has a passion for the web and is looking for an opportunity to work within a small outfit. Atomic Smash has built a reputation for delivering high quality WordPress websites and we would like another team member to work on existing and new projects. As well as developing WordPress driven sites there is also scope for learning new technologies and expanding your skill set further. We want our team members to be constantly learning and therefore we always have internal projects which pushes our R&D and we are always on the lookout for conferences / talks for team members to attend.

There is a Table Tennis table, which we often use for breaks and a delicious bakery right next to the office. We also usually head out for team lunch once a month and are always happy to talk about flexible working hours if it fits in with the current projects.

We have a great working atmosphere and encourage out of office socialising. Recently organising a table tennis tournament for everyone in the building and also taking part in a team golf challenge last month, there is normally a non work event being organised.

An online portfolio of work will be required and examples of code will need to be provided.

Salary : £20,000 – £25,000 p.a. Depending on experience.
Office is closed for 2 weeks at Xmas which is not taken out of normal holiday allowance.

  • Excellent knowledge of Responsive HTML + CSS + JQuery.
  • Excellent knowledge of WordPress.
  • Proficient in SASS.
  • Experienced with using version control (GIT).
  • Keen eye for detail, the ability to take a flat design and turn into a functioning website with interactions.
  • Evidence of previous work.


  • Used the SASS grid system Susy.
  • Experience with multiple ways of compiling SASS (codekit, gulp).
  • Familiar with Capistrano for website deployments.
  • Knowledge of TDD.
  • Practice with Continuous integration and pipeline delivery.
  • Ideally worked in a team environment.
