Nice to meet you

Officially this story starts in 2010, when co-founders Piers Tincknell and David Darke launched Atomic Smash, but the truth is the history goes a little further back.

Piers and David met during their very first week of university, and what they learned during this time carries through to the way they run the business today.

During their studies, they observed how quickly the digital environment changes and the importance of embracing it. Leaning into change has been championed ever since.

Atomic Smash has evolved as a company in many ways over more than a decade in business, with curiosity and learning integrated into our core values.

Back in 2015, we decided to trial a new methodology for a client: a continuous delivery model, defined as “the ability to get changes of all types – including new features, configuration changes, bug fixes and experiments – into production, or into the hands of users, safely and quickly in a sustainable way.”

Over the following years, more and more clients wanted to be onboarded to this model. During the summer of 2021 we named it Always Evolving® and it was trademarked the following year.

In 2022, we were vetted, verified and officially endorsed by WooCommerce, known as WooExperts; one of just three agencies in the UK to receive this accreditation.

Together, Piers and David lead a growing team of WordPress, WooCommerce & Shopify specialists who dedicate themselves to evolving digital platforms and building strong and lasting partnerships with our clients.

In 2023, we became a Certified B Corp. We believe businesses should care about people and the planet, as well as profits. Our team is committed to making our clients’ websites faster, greener, more accessible, more inclusive, and more profitable.

Outside of our day-to-day work, we take extra steps to support the communities around us.
