Digital Client Strategist (Account Manager / Digital Project Manager)
Salary: £35,000-40,000
Hours: Full time
Position: Permanent
- Salary £35 – 40K depending on experience

- 35 hours per week, including an hour lunch break each day
- Permanent position following 3 months probationary period
- 3 days in the office / 2 days remote working
We are looking for an enthusiastic digital client strategist with project, client and team management skills.
You will be the first point of contact for some of our most technical platforms. Therefore, you need to have:
- A very good working knowledge of the web
- An appreciation for UX and UI
- Understanding of how the development process works
- Knowledge and experience of wider digital marketing
You will be working closely with some enterprise WordPress and WooCommerce sites to help them achieve their goals online, mainly through the website but as you will know the website plays just one part in their digital strategy.
If your knowledge of WordPress and WooCommerce is not advanced, you will be expected to get up to speed very quickly. It is expected for you to have good working knowledge of, SEO, Paid and Social Media.
We have developed our own methodology for working that allows us to continuously improve our clients’ sites. You will be responsible for overseeing the process and helping clients to make their websites the best they can be in collaboration with our talented WordPress design and development team.
Key accountabilities
- Client success
- Client growth through uncovering opportunities for clients across UX, UI, Accessibility, Development and Performance
- Delivering work on-time, on-budget, to high quality
- Reporting on activity, providing insights into performance and making recommendations for potential improvements or additional opportunities. Using tools such as GA4
- Managing production schedules across the team to help your clients achieve their goals using Productive.io and Monday.com
- Push forward own self-learning and progression
Responsibilities
- Being up-to-date with client business roadmap and aspirations
- Ensuring the client facing project management tool is well maintained and monitored
- Working with your direct team to refine briefs, come up with estimates and prioritise tasks
- Regular (weekly) status calls with clients
- Maintaining own timesheets accurately and consistently
- Assist with the QA process for work running through studio when needed
- Regular engagement and understanding of schedules and communicate with client/team to keep work on track
- Billing and invoicing for your clients
- Excellent understanding and communication of your team’s current and future capacity / availability
- Work to maintain and increase regular client billing
- Occasional engagement / management with external partners
- Represent Atomic Smash at industry events
Skills required
- Experience of account management
- Building out web pages and content via the CMS
- Experience of planning and producing digital projects at a mid-level
- Understanding of agile and waterfall methodologies (Our Always Evolving service pulls elements from both
- Great communicator internally and externally
- Strong understanding of digital project delivery
- Understanding of WordPress and WooCommerce is desirable and would make you stand out
- Knowledge and experience of wider digital marketing, SEO, Paid, Social.

WordPress / WooCommerce Developer
Salary: Up to £36,500

Atomic Smash is a growing WordPress & WooCommerce studio with an office in central Bristol. We help our clients achieve their goals through the constant evolution and improvement of their platforms.
We are not currently recruiting for this role but we are always keen to connect with personable WordPress developers who share our passion for all things digital. Through our Always Evolving model, we work closely with our clients to ensure their platforms are continuously improving to help meet the ever-changing needs of their businesses and users.
In this role, you will be working closely with the rest of the Always Evolving team to deliver new functionality for clients. Weekly status calls with clients allow you to get a closer understanding of their needs and any issues or challenges.
The successful candidate is expected to have a number of live example WordPress sites to talk through during the interview process, preferably these would include some form of complex functionality.
As well as developing WordPress-driven sites, there is also scope for learning new technologies and expanding your skillset further. We want our team members to be constantly learning and therefore we always have internal projects which push our skills. We are also always on the lookout for conferences or talks for team members to attend or speak at.
Key accountabilities
- Deliver quality bug free code on clients WordPress and WooCommerce websites within allocated budgets
- Ensure clients are satisfied with work produced
- Delivering work against self-determined estimates
- Fixing any issues caused by merges/deployments
Responsibilities
- Deliver development work in a timely manner
- Be able to communicate complex ideas or solutions clearly
- Manage your time effectively on a daily basis
- Maintaining timesheets accurately and consistently
- Be part of regularly scheduled client communications including monthly calls and daily stand-ups
- Communicate and update clients on a regular basis as work progresses. This could be via slack, Trello board, Jira board or summary catch up calls
- Be able to investigate and quote on new work accurately
- Being open and honest when a solution does not immediately present itself and being able to request time to investigate
- When problems occur, be able to ask for help and assistance from the rest of the team (including Project Managers)
Required skills
- 3+ years of commercial experience
- Strong client communication skills (written and verbal)
- In-depth provable knowledge of WordPress
- The candidate must be able to talk about a minimum of 2 projects they are proud of, which go beyond the standard functionality that WordPress provides
- Knowledge deployment processes that exist beyond FTP
- Working knowledge of GIT
- Understanding of web security

Location
Our office is based 5 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station.
The majority of our team work hybrid.
We are looking for candidates that live less than 50 miles from Bristol city centre.
Client Partners are expected to join an in-person meeting at the office once a week.
We have a team day once a month where you’ll come into the office to use the space and collaborate with the team you are working closely with (usually 3-4 people). For this day, Atomic Smash is willing to cover the costs of travel for anyone living more than 40 miles from Bristol city centre.
The rest of the time you can choose to work from home or use the office for hot desking, unless otherwise specified.
Fully-remote applications or anyone outside of the UK will not be reviewed.
